My name’s Alex Lielacher. I run Upstanding Reputation, and if we work together, I’m the person you’ll deal with. Not an account manager.
You’re telling someone about a difficult chapter of your life and trusting them to handle it carefully. You should know who that person is before you start.
Why this exists
Most people who come to us aren’t hiding anything. They had a bad year, or a lawsuit, or a story that was accurate at the time and isn’t anymore. Then it sat near the top of Google for a decade while their actual life moved on.
The reputation industry hasn’t served those people well. Plenty of firms will promise you removals they can’t deliver, charge for the attempt, and go quiet when it doesn’t work.
I started Upstanding Reputation to do the plain version. I’ll show you exactly what’s out there, tell you honestly what can and can’t change, then do the work.
What I did before this
I’ve spent six years running Rise Up Media, an SEO and content marketing agency. That’s where the technical side comes from. Cleaning up page one of Google is a search problem before it’s a reputation problem. Getting AI to describe you accurately is a search problem too, just a newer one most reputation firms haven’t caught up with.
Before that, I was a journalist, and I still write. Ten-plus years covering finance and technology. That side turns out to matter just as much. Most of building a credible public presence comes down to knowing how a story actually gets written and what makes an editor take an interest.
How I work
Everything you tell me stays between us. I don’t publish client names, and I don’t use anyone’s situation as a case study. I also won’t take on two clients whose interests conflict.
I’ll tell you early if I don’t think I can help. Some situations need a lawyer, not a reputation firm. Some are too recent to work on responsibly. I’d rather say so on the first call than take six months of fees and disappoint you.
There’s a short list of work I won’t take on at all. It’s on the front page. It costs us the occasional client, and I’m fine with that.
